INTRODUCTION:


The college has a vast collection of about 1, 10,000 books and journals on matters of common interest and different subjects taught in the college. It has an up-to-date Textbook Section besides a Book Bank and Students Aid Fund Section. The library subscribes 43 journals, 27 popular magazines and 20 newspapers. The library operates on an ‘Open Access’ system, Library services are fully computerized. For general rules regarding the use of the library, students are advised to see the library notice board.

 

LIBRARY RULES:

 

1.       STUDENTS CAN BORROW BOOKS AFTER SHOWING THEIR IDENTITY CARDS. 

2.       UNDER GRADUATE B.A./B. COM./B. Sc HONOURS STUDENTS ARE ENTITLED TO BORROW 5 BOOKS, B. A. PROGRAMME, B. COM., B. SC. PHYSICAL SCIENCES STUDENTS  ARE ENTITLED TO BORROW 4 BOOKS, AND POST GRADUATE STUDENTS ARE ENTITLED TO BORROW 6 BOOKS AT A TIME. 

3.       STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE CATEGORIES OF PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED /S.C./S.T./O.B.C. (NON CREAMY LAYER) E.W.S. / MERITORIOUS ARE ALSO ENTITLED TO BORROW BOOKS FROM THE STUDENTS AID FUND COLLECTION. 

4.       BOOKS WILL BE ISSUED BETWEEN 9:30 AM TO 4:00 PM FOR FOURTEEN DAYS (EXCEPT LUNCH BREAK   FROM 1.00 TO 1.30 PM)  

5.       AN OVERDUE CHARGE FOR BOOKS IS RS. 1.00 PER DAY. 

6.       BEFORE GETTING THE BOOKS ISSUED FROM THE LIBRARY, THE PAGES SHOULD BE CHECKED THOROUGHLY AND IF THE PAGES ARE MISSING OR MARKED BY PEN/PENCIL KINDLY GET IT SIGNED BY THE PERSON ON DUTY AT THE COUNTER. WHILE RETURNING THE BOOK, IF THE PAGES ARE FOUND MISSING OR MARKED BY PEN/PENCIL, THE BORROWER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE. 

7.       PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED STUDENTS ARE ENTITLED TO BE SERVED FIRST. 

8.       REFERENCE BOOKS, JOURNALS, NEWSPEPERS AND MAGAZINES ETC. ARE AVAILABLE FOR USE WITHIN THE LIBRARY. 

9.       PERSONAL BOOKS, MAGAZINES AND OTHER PRINTED MATERIAL ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE LIBRARY. 

10.    THE STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN PROPER DISCIPLINE AND DECORUM IN THE LIBRARY.  

11.     LIBRARY IS A SILENCE ZONE, THEREFORE COMPLETE SILENCE SHOULD BE OBSERVED. 

12.    CELL PHONE SHOULD BE SWITCHED OFF/ PUT ON SILENT MODE BEFORE ENTERING THE LIBRARY.  

13.    STUDENTS MUST KEEP THEIR BAGS AND OTHER BELONGINGS (EXCLUDING MONEY AND VALUABLE ETC.) AT THE PROPERTY COUNTER. 

14.    STUDENTS CAN MADE THEIR SUGGESTIONS FOR PURCHASE OF BOOKS AND FOR IMPROVEMENT OF LIBRARY SERVICES AT THE CIRCULATION COUNTER OF THE LIBRARY.  

15.    STUDENTS CAN ALWAYS CONTACT THE LIBRARIAN/LIBRARY STAFF FOR THE HELP IN THE USE OF LIBRARY.
